Favorite artists: Egon Schiele (1890 - 1918)
Last but certainly not least (see: my icon). There’s definitely something disturbing about Schiele’s work, about the way he seems to torture his models’ bodies, how he exposes their pain. And that, weirdly enough, is a big part of why I like his work, in my opinion nothing is more expressionist then a drawing by Egon Schiele. Even if these bodies are in pain they’re alive, and they exist on their own, free to feel even if that means feeling too much. His drawing style is just incredible, the way he uses color to highlight the importance of the line. Ugh, I just love his work so much.
